The East Africa Youth Leadership Summit, abbreviated as YouLead, has been organized every year in line with the provisions of the EAC Youth Policy (2016) Priority 14 which mandates the EAC Secretariat to build networks and partnerships and particularly to “institute an annual youth leaders’ forum with the EAC Secretary General as a regional platform for youth engagement with the EAC leadership.” The summit is East Africa’s biggest youth bringing together over a 1000 young people from the EAC countries to engage in sector agnostic youth development and build a movement of youth participation regionally and nationally.
