Ujumbe Consultancy is a nonprofit organization using mhealth and ehealth to improve health of people in Tanzania. Projects are both done on an implementation basis and as research to create evidence based interventions to improve health. The expertise and experience of the team members includes information technology (IT) and medical research (both quantitative and qualitative). Programs are developed based on theories and previous research. Currently, the focus is on HIV positive individuals and on mothers and babies. These are chosen as mortality among these groups in Tanzania is high, but can be simply prevented. We are exploring other target groups that need improvement of health or need support for their conditions such as diabetes patients and children's nutrition. In addition, we will also work on programs to prevent certain conditions by education on healthy lifestyles.
